Co-chairman of the CIGRE Committee of Montenegro, Assistant Doctor Martin Calasan, winner of the

Asst. prof. Dr. Martin Calasan is the winner of the state award "Oktoih" for the year 2022 for exceptional results in the field of education and student standard.

Dr. Calasan is engaged at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica and the Maritime Faculty in Kotor, University of Montenegro, where he teaches several subjects, both at the undergraduate level, as well as at masters and doctoral studies. At the session of the Senate of the University of Montenegro on February 12, 2019, he was elected to the position of Assistant Professor in the field of Electrical Machines and Drives.

Engaged as a researcher, he participated in a large number of scientific research projects, then also as a reviewer in international journals, while his professional activity is reflected in the creation of a large number of projects, studies and expertise. He is the author of the book DC machines, as well as a huge number of scientific and professional papers in international and domestic journals and at international and domestic conferences and symposia.

He is the winner of a large number of awards, such as: the award of the Ministry of Science for the most successful inventor in 2017, the award of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development for the most successful scientist and scientific achievement in 2022, the Danubius award given by the Austrian Ministry of Education to best young scientists and other awards at international and domestic conferences. He is on Stanford's list of the best scientists in the world along with only five other Montenegrin scientists, all from the University of Montenegro.

He made a great contribution to the Montenegrin Committee of CIGRE with his work and involvement, initially as a member and then as Chairman of the Study committee Rotating electrical machines. Currently he’s been holding the position of Co-chairman of the CIGRE Committee of Montenegro since 2019.
